Wish You Were Here Wednesdays

Liberty Travel wanted to have a social media push scheduled on Wednesdays to stimulate the social media channels such as Facebook, G+ and Twitter.  The team wanted a stamp-like badge to be placed on an inspiring image to go with their blog theme for the week.

The first step was to create this badge that could be placed on the image, and that is when the “Wish You Were Here Wednesdays” logo was born. I chose a fun, legible font for the “Wish You Were Here” part of the logo. I thought putting the words to fit within a circle would work nicely as an emblem, in which I could also fit the “Wednesdays” portion of the title.  Since, in essence of the brand, promoting travel to the possible destinations being featured would be the underlying purpose of this social media push, I added a flying airplane to the logo.

I used Photoshop and InDesign to create this card.  The Statue of Liberty was in a daytime setting which looked ok, but it needed to have more of a festive background to go along with the Independence Day theme. We all know what we look forward to on Independence Day besides BBQ parties… FIREWORKS!
When thinking of an Aqua Park (Water Park), we all think of water-slides, cooling off from the heat, and having some fun.  When I found this picture, I thought to myself, “This is THE PIC for this theme.” The girl looks like she is having so much fun, and even though I am an adult, I want to bring out the little girl within me and have just as much fun as her.  I used a fun font to represent that, but I must say, the picture captures the “Wish You were Here” theme.
